Marc Chagall is a Russian born artist that spent most of his life in France. He lived from 1887 to 1985. Chagall stated that he painted his dreams and often his dreams were of his childhood in Russia. Chagall is best known for his colorful paintings but he also created stained glass windows, painted the ceiling of a famous theater in Paris, painted the sets for an opera in New York and even made an illustrated Bible.
